BACK STORY
The Original Poster (OP) has a 10-year-old son named Julian, who was very close to OP’s nephew, also OP’s son’s cousin. His name is Parker.
WHAT DOES OP SAY
OP says that no one can separate them when they eat together and OP lives two blocks away from his brother, his brother’s wife, and Parker.
WHAT HAPPENED NEXT
OP asked his brother on Friday if Parker wanted Julian to spend the weekend at his house since it was long. To which OP’s brother said that they had already made plans.
SHE ASKED FOR PLANS
She asked what plans it was and thought Parker would like Julius to tag along so he has a playmate. OP’s brother said it was something for his wife.
OP WAS SHOCKED
The next day OP found out that his brother had lied. OP found that Parker had a slumber party at his house.
OP says he found out because he saw them all walking to Denny’s the previous morning.
WHAT HAPPENED NEXT
OP called his brother out and asked about it, and his brother said that he didn’t want OP’s son to feel left out, so he lied. OP’s brother also said it didn’t feel right to him to have an innocent 10yo around a bunch of 12yo boys because they would eat him alive.
WHAT DID OP SAY
OP said that was bad and asked his brother to text, Julius right now and ask if he’d like to join this weekend’s slumber party because he’ll be upset if he finds out he was left out.
But OP’s brother refused to do what OP demanded.
WHAT’S NEXT?
So OP called their mom, who lives with his brother, and explained the situation. That caused a lot of drama between his mom, his brother, and his brother’s wife.
Later OP’s son got invited and declined because he was holding out on going to the aquarium.
OP says that his brother was livid, and OP told him that if he had asked in the first place, then none of this wouldn’t have happened, and there would be no drama.
OP WAS WRONG

“I don’t think they’re “inseparable” so much as OP wants them to be. If they were as inseparable as OP makes it seem, then 1) Parker probably would have either invited OP’s son himself or at the very least mentioned it, and 2) OP’s son probably would have accepted the invite (unless he was aware it was a coerced invite)
I could see a soft everything is a jerk with OP still being stupid if Parker had wanted to invite him, and his dad said no. However, Parker himself didn’t invite him, as is his right. OP was also up in arms about how their son would be hurt, but he didn’t even want to go. By the mile, their son wouldn’t have even known about the sleepover if she’d been minding her own business.’
