The Original Poster (OP) took it to the forum, and asked “Am I wrong for ‘stealing’ cookies from my little sister?”. We want to know from you.
BACKSTORY
OP is 16 and she has a younger sister, Anna, who is 10.
ANNA’S BUSINESS
Anna has a business where she buys her own cookie ingredients, makes them, and sells them to family members.
OP DOESN’T BUY FROM HER
OP isn’t much of a cookie eater, so she doesn’t usually buy from her sister.
OP WANTED SOME
Recently, OP wanted to eat some cookies, but she didn’t want to buy from her as she could make them herself.
WHAT DID SHE DO?
She made her own batch of cookies using family ingredients, ate a few, and set the rest out on the family plate.
ANNA STARTED CRYING
When Anna saw this, she started crying. OP’s parents supported Anna and said that OP was being unnecessarily cruel and that she could have supported her sister.
ANNA TOOK THE COOKIES
Their parents then let Anna take the cookies that OP made and let her sell them along with her own batch of cookies.
OP TOOK THE ONES SHE MADE
It was pretty easy for OP to identify the ones she had made. So, she took the ones she made from the box whenever she wanted to eat a cookie.
WHAT HAPPENED NEXT?
Anna noticed this, and complained about it to the parents. The parents were upset with OP and they made her pay Anna, saying she was wrong to ‘steal’ from her.
Now OP wants to know if this is wrong.
