There are many reasons why a man might turn down a woman. It could be that he is not interested in her, that he is not in a relationship right now, or that he is already dating someone.
A user took it to the forum, and asked “Men who turned a woman down, why?”. Here are the top responses.
“I turned down a girl once – one that I actually liked too. She asked me out a few months after I had a rough break-up. I wanted to say yes but wasn’t sure if I liked her genuinely or because I wanted a rebound.
Six months later I asked her out. I’d had time to process my breakup and figure out what I was looking for. I didn’t hook up with anyone at that time or anything, but I wanted to make sure she and I were signed up for the same thing.”, said one user.
LACK OF INTEREST
“Sometimes we just aren’t interested. We don’t just jump at any chance to be with a woman.”, said one user.
“She was married. I don’t need to be shot by an angry husband.”, said one user.
“Way too much hot and cold energy. Once she called it quits from the relationship, I moved on. Two weeks later, she decided that she made a mistake. I came back.
Two months later, she did the same thing, so I moved on (again). Two weeks later, she decided she made another mistake and wanted me back. I responded and said ‘Sorry, can’t help ya’.”, said one user.
RUDENESS TOWARDS OTHERS
“I saw a super gorgeous woman at a hotel in Hawaii. We kept exchanging glances the first few days. Then I overheard her treat the staff poorly. I mean she was straight up rude.
That same day she came up to me and introduced herself. We sat and chatted for hours by the pool. We went into the ocean and snorkeled as well. She invited me to dinner. I accepted. At dinner everything was great but she told our server the food was not good (it was great), she asked for a free bottle of champagne. The server gave it to her.
She invited me to her room and I declined. She was shocked. So I told her ‘I could never be with a woman like you’. I signed the room charge for dinner and left. The next few days she kept coming up to me asking me what happened so I told her. I think she fell in love with me because I called her out on her behavior.”, said one user.
NOT IN THE RIGHT HEADSPACE
“We’re not at our best physically, emotionally, or work-wise. In other words, I’ve had multiple situations where I met women and would have succeeded if I asked for a date, but I just wasn’t in the right place myself.”, said one user.
“She was racist. I didn’t wanna hear that trash all the time.”, said one user.
“She had a boyfriend and it turned me off.”, said one user.
“It happened with a friend from high school that I had lost contact with. We started talking, she admitted to having a thing for me when we were younger but I completely missed all the signs.
When I went over to her place, she tried setting up a Netflix and chill situation but it just felt like I was talking to a friend again. Turned her down.”, said one user.
“She was annoying and seemed like she felt entitled to my affection. Made me realize how a lot of women probably feel a lot of the time.”, said one user.
“She was a very manipulative and vindictive person. She had a reputation for using guys for her petty schemes.”, said one user.
