Backstory
The Original Poster (OP) (18f) loves her boyfriend (21m), but yesterday, they got into an argument that made OP very upset.
What Happened Yesterday?
Yesterday OP and her boyfriend were watching a movie together, and OP was sitting on his lap. OP got up to get drinks halfway through, but when she sat up, she noticed that there was blood on his jeans.
Moments later, he noticed it, too, and OP apologized, realizing she must have started her period.
OP’s Boyfriend Got Mad
OP’s boyfriend freaked out and started shouting at OP, asking why she’d ruined his favorite jeans. He stomped up to the bedroom and slammed the door.
How Did OP Feel About The Whole Thing?
OP felt pretty upset and guilty, especially when she checked her period tracker and realized OP was due to start today, and she should have been more wary that she was close to starting her period.
Fast Forward To Today
Today, OP’s boyfriend apologized for shouting but says he is still upset about the jeans. He thinks OP should have been more careful knowing that she was due to start her period today.
OP’s Thoughts
“I’ve tried to wash the jeans but they’re still stained. I feel guilty but also upset that he got so angry with me. So, am I a jerk?”, asks OP.

“Not the jerk. Not like you peed on him! You can’t control your period. He sounds like a jerk. This is a red flag for me.
Side note for the future, use ice cubes and rub on blood spots and dab with an old rag. Repeat until the stain is lifted then wash in cold water. Cold everything for blood stains.”
He’s Being A Jerk
“Can you control your blood flow?
Did you know you were going to bleed on his jeans? Did you do it on purpose?
No. You know you’re not at fault here so don’t let him make you think you are. He’s being a jerk!”
This Is NOT OKAY
“Is it ok to be upset if something gets stained? Yes. But is it ok to stomp off and get absolutely mental about a literal bodily function you had no control over? No. Not the jerk.”
Try Some Hydrogen Peroxide
“Not the jerk. Unless he has a phobia about blood, he’s being ridiculous. Does he think you did it on purpose?
Were these super expensive, impossible-to-replace jeans? If he was just upset about the jeans, fine, but he seems to be upset with *you,* and that’s ridiculous.
Try some hydrogen peroxide. If you have already washed or rinsed in hot water, you may not get it all, but it might help loosen the stain.”
