BACKSTORY
OP was invited to her friend’s hen party last week.
THE RULES
The organizers asked everyone to wear all-black outfits. Only the bride was supposed to wear a colorful outfit so that she would stand out.
OP’S DRESS
OP selected a floral dress with a black background. She thought it would go perfectly with the theme.
EVERYONE WORE BLACK
When OP finally arrived at the party, she saw that everyone else was wearing all-black outfits, and she was the only one wearing a floral dress.
WHAT HAPPENED NEXT?
One of the girls, asked OP why she was wearing a floral dress when there were clear instructions to wear black only. OP replied that her dress was still black only, it just had a floral print.
WHAT HAPPENED DURING THE PHOTO SESSION?
When they were having group photo takes, one of the girls who organized it seemed annoyed and said that the photos looked odd as everyone is wearing full black and the bride is in the middle wearing colour but with a random floral print taking away attention.
OP CONFIDED IN ANOTHER GIRL
Later OP confided in another girl saying she couldn’t understand why her wearing a floral dress was such a big deal. She also said that it’s just a hen party and it didn’t need to be that strict.
WHAT DID THE GIRL SAY?
The girl said that it wasn’t a big deal in the grand scheme of things but it also wouldn’t have been a big deal for OP to stick to the rules as black is owned by everyone.
HOW DID HER ACTIONS SEEM?
Her actions seemed like she was being difficult just for the sake of it, by deliberately choosing a print. Now OP wants to know if she is a jerk for wearing the floral black dress to the hen party.
