Imagine looking forward to spending your girlfriend’s last night in town with her, only to find out that she went clubbing with her girlfriends without you. An internet user asked, “Am I a jerk for expecting my girlfriend to leave the club after being not let in?”. We need to hear your thoughts on the matter.
Backstory
The Original Poster (OP) recently went out with some friends, four guys, and six girls, OP’s girlfriend being one of them. All the guys were hesitant to go clubbing because they knew it would be expensive and how this specific club treats guys but OP’s girl and the others convinced them otherwise.
What Happened When They Got There?
When they got there, they were told to be let in with the girls. They had to spend 400$ on a table and a bottle or they wouldn’t be allowed in, this is after all the girls went in.
When OP Texted His Girl
Of course, all the guys said no and dipped and when OP texted his girl if they were leaving, she said no and that they were staying.
Some More Context
Some more context to this is that OP’s girlfriend is traveling soon, and this was their last night together where she convinced OP to go to this thing, wasted his money, and then let him Uber home at 11 while she went clubbing with her friends when it was supposed to be their night.
They have also talked about situations like this and she said of course she would leave with OP if anything like this ever happened.
What Does OP Say?
“Am I the jerk for expecting her to leave right away when I texted her we weren’t going to be allowed in? Or am I being dramatic and crazy?”, asks OP.
Looks Like She’s Traveling Already
“Not the jerk. Looks like, in her mind, she is traveling already. Were you planning on this being a continuing relationship? Because it seems like she has made other choices…”
Time To Realize A Few Things
“Not the jerk. GF does not feel the same level of commitment to your relationship that you do.
Time to realize that and understand what level your relationship truly is.”
They Did This On Purpose!
“Not the jerk. She or her friends chose this place SPECIFICALLY because they knew what would happen.
Your girlfriend is no longer your girlfriend… she likely never was YOUR girlfriend… it sounds like it was just YOUR TURN with her… cut your losses and pack off to greener pastures.
The same for any of the other dudes you were with who thought that they were with THEIR girlfriends.”
How Long Has She Been Doing That?
“Not the jerk. How long have you been together and does she usually treat you like an ATM? She clearly wanted to go out on the town with her girlfriends. Sounds like you and the guys were purely optional in their view. Not cool.”
It Was Supposed To Be A Night Out Together!
“Not the jerk. It was supposed to be a night out together; when they didn’t let the guys in, everyone should have left and done something else.”
