BACKSTORY
OP was visiting a different city for a weekend, and she was staying at her friend’s place.
HIS WEIRD HABIT
Every time OP got up to use the bathroom, her friend used to jump up and say that he needed to use it before her.
WHY WAS HE DOING THAT?
At first, OP thought that it was a joke, but when she asked him, he said that he was doing it because OP takes “too long” to use the bathroom.
WAS IT TRUE?
According to OP, even while showering, she never took more than 10 minutes, and all the other times, it was a shorter period.
OP LET IT GO
OP let it go on the first day, and she never stopped him when he kept doing it every single day of her stay.
WHY DID OP LET IT GO?
OP let it go because she didn’t want to criticize someone who was hosting her in an unknown city.
WHAT HAPPENED NEXT?
On her last day of stay, OP and her friend were sitting on the couch. When OP got up to go to the bathroom to take a shower, her friend jumped out off the couch and said that he needed to brush his teeth first.
WHY DID OP SNAP?
OP got mad at him because she was sure had she not made the move to go to the washroom, he would have stayed on the couch for some more time.
WHAT HAPPENED NEXT?
OP told her friend that it was really strange that he remembered brushing his teeth only after she got up to take a shower. He then called her disrespectful for making him justify why he had to brush his teeth.
OP asks if she is wrong for snapping at the friend she was staying with for wanting to brush his teeth.

Since this post blew up, and I’m a fantasy writer by nature, I decided to ponder this more deeply and do some research. Many of you are correct. Modern surveillance equipment wouldn’t require him to keep switching it on manually. So, let’s assume he’s not a serial voyeur with hidden cameras all over his apartment.
