BACKSTORY
OP and his wife invited his wife’s friend for dinner.
SHE TRIED TO HUG OP’S SON
OP and his wife were talking to the woman when their son came to say ‘hi’ to the guest. The woman got up to hug him.
HE DENIED
OP’s son said no to the hug as he was having a bad day.
WHAT HAPPENED NEXT?
She kept pressuring OP’s son to hug her, and when he didn’t budge, she looked at OP. OP told her that his son got into a fight with another kid at school, so he had been grumpy all day, so he just wanted some space.
WHAT DID THE WOMAN SAY?
After that, the woman said, “Come on. You’re just gonna let him disobey like that?”.
OP TOOK HIS SON’S STAND
OP told her that he raised his son to be able to put forward his boundaries. OP also said that he would never tell his son to break his boundaries for someone else.
THE WOMAN LAUGHED
After hearing what OP said, the woman laughed and said that his son is lucky that he’s not her son, otherwise, that behavior would have been fixed by now.
OP ASKED HER TO LEAVE
OP told his son to go to his room and asked the woman to leave. OP also said that he wouldn’t stand for his son to be treated like a pet rather than a person.
THE WOMAN LEFT
The woman got furious, said some horrible stuff, and left. OP’s wife was a little upset because of the entire thing, as this might have ruined her relationship with this woman, who is also her yoga partner. But she also told OP that she wasn’t mad at him because she would have done the same.
