“Sales is the go-to profession for people who are likable but not too bright. Also, a good salesperson will make more money than anyone else.”
FACTORY WORK
“Factory work is monotonous, but many of those jobs can be done by anyone.”
“Honestly, try factory work. That’s been my go-to for the last 7 or 8 years now. At least in the ones I’ve worked at, you learn one machine, maybe two, know what that machine makes and how it does, and then operate it as quickly as possible without sacrificing quality.
It sounds like a lot, but it’s not. The things you must do become so second nature that you can almost shut your brain off entirely once the cycle becomes muscle memory.”
POLITICS
“Have you thought about politics? The United States House and Senate are full of stupid people.”
WAREHOUSE JOBS FOR GROCERY STORES
“Warehouse jobs for grocery stores. Solid pay and solid medical benefits. You’re going to put in some work for that paycheck.”
UPS DRIVERS
“UPS drivers have a powerful union, excellent pay and benefits. You may have to start as a seasonal employee, but they hire permanent employees from seasonal (at least, I know a few people who have gotten in that way).
You must be willing to move quickly, do physical work in any weather, and learn to drive a delivery truck. But you don’t have to be academically gifted to succeed.”
TRUCK DRIVING
“Truck driving/driving can be well paying.
Also, you probably are brilliant at some things. You just got told you had to be competent at something like school or work, or you are dumb and weren’t good at that one thing.”
MANUFACTURING JOBS
“Manufacturing, and we have our fair share of stupidity. In my factory, you can start making $100k with no degree, and all you have to do is be competent enough to listen.
Also, it’s not hard at all. Most effortless paying job I have ever seen.”
TRADES
“Trades. Only a little brain power is required, and they pay well. Just gotta be good with your hands.”
POST OFFICE
“Post Office. They’re always hiring; you don’t need a degree, and it’s a stable job.”
TRANSPORTATION SECURITY OFFICER
“Transportation Security Officer/Transportation Security Administration (TSA) is hiring with a pretty good starting salary and great benefits (federal government). Go to a job fair and get hired on the spot; no college needed.”
JOBS WITH GOVERNMENT CONTRACTORS
“Look into jobs with government contractors. The work is fundamental, there is opportunity for growth, and they give good benefits. Places like Altura, CGI, and more. Good luck!”
UNION LABORER
“Union Laborer. Might sweep a lot of floors, but the pay is great ($60-80k), and the benefits and retirement income is one of the best.”
PLUMBING
Consider plumbing or fitting bathrooms/kitchens and more. You don’t need to be a rocket scientist to fit pipes; customers are always grateful, and the money is excellent.”
FILLING EXPANSION CRACKS IN DRIVEWAYS
“Fill expansion cracks in driveways for $10/ft. One concrete driveway is like $1k-$2K for one day of work, $100/hour possible. Materials are only like $200 for a $2,000 job. No ladders, not a lot of competition. Mainly, profit off the labor hours.
A concrete-raising company usually offers this service, but a person could do this one thing repeatedly. Learn in one hour on YouTube.”
WALMART DISTRIBUTION JOBS
“Walmart distribution centers pay decently if you’re not in a high-cost living area. The benefits are good enough. Monkeys could do most of our jobs. Expect the job to be physically demanding, mind-numbing, or both.
Plenty of big corporation drama, but they’ve paid the mortgage and allowed me to live comfortably for six years.”
WEB DESIGNS
“Start learning how to design web pages. It’s so much easier than you think. There are frameworks for everything. Just start learning and grinding on web design problem sets. You can freelance or get hired somewhere.
Getting hired without a college degree and many projects under your belt is harder. I would go that route over manual labor and more.”
CONSTRUCTION
“Construction. You can be making six figures inside of 15 years easily if you just keep at it, learn your trade, and move up. Earn your way into a union.”
TECHNICIAN AT A CAR DEALERSHIP
“I’m a technician at a car dealership. All the unintelligent folks are salespeople or service advisors. Those are easy jobs to get, and you can hold them down for years and make a decent living.
The cars sell themselves if you’re in sales, and the technicians make your money for you if you’re an advisor.”
WASTE MANAGEMENT
“I’m not kidding: waste management.
I have a family friend who drove a trash truck for the city and made good money for almost 30 years. He retired at 55 and makes about $60k in retirement with full benefits.
It’s simple to work. But it can be gross and sometimes hard work. But never really complicated.”
