BACKSTORY
OP’s best friend Jenny just had a baby with her husband, Tom.
OP and her boyfriend got to meet their baby boy for the first time when Jenny and her husband came over to their place for dinner last week.
HOT TUB
OP and her boyfriend received a hot tub from OP’s parents for Christmas, which is why they told Jenny and her husband to bring swimwear.
WHAT HAPPENED NEXT?
OP’s boyfriend didn’t want to get into the pool, which is why he was responsible for holding Jenny’s baby while the other three were getting ready to get into the pool.
GETTING READY FOR THE POOL
Jenny was the last one to get changed. She wore a bikini, and OP thought that Jenny looked beautiful as always.
WHAT DID TOM SAY?
After seeing Jenny in a bikini, Jenny’s husband, Tom, said that she still needed to do a lot of work to get back to how she used to look before her pregnancy.
WHAT HAPPENED NEXT?
After hearing Tom’s remarks, Jenny got highly uncomfortable, even though she wasn’t vocal about it.
JENNY WAS SELF-CONSCIOUS
A few days earlier, Jenny expressed concern about her increasing weight to OP. And she was struggling to lose weight after her pregnancy.

OP instantly jumped in and defended her best friend. She told Tom, “Jenny just had a child; what’s your excuse?”.
WHAT HAPPENED NEXT?
Tom instantly offended and told OP she needed to learn to take a joke. Before leaving for their home, Tom pulled OP aside and told her to keep her nose out of their matters in the future.
OP asks if she is a jerk for defending her friend after she was called out for being overweight by her husband.
