Dealing with people and things in the real world can be challenging. We often encounter situations that might seem foolish, and it’s essential to stay patient when facing them.
A user asked the forum, “What’s something stupid that just causes pure rage to you?” Here are the common responses.
NOT USING TURN SIGNALS
“People not using turn signals. Yeah, it bothers everyone. The ones that turn them on in the middle of their turn. Why bother?”
FORGETTING WHAT YOU NEED
“Getting everything on the grocery list except that one thing you needed.”
“Influencers talking about how hard their career is so annoying.”
DEALING OVER PHONE
“Dealing with any bank, airline, etc, over the phone. They are so cheap they let the ‘automated messages’ deal with your issues, and it never works out. It boils my blood to get something solved over the phone nowadays.”
PEOPLE NOT LISTENING
“When I need to communicate with somebody, they start screaming over me instead of listening. Sometimes, people don’t have all the facts when they think they do.
Cutting somebody off and shooting them down is always very rude no matter if you’re discussing something important or not.”
PEOPLE WHO USE THE WORD LITERALLY
“When someone says ‘literally’ when they literally mean figuratively. Words need to have some meaning. For example, I’m literally going to starve if my Uber Eats doesn’t show up right now.”
PEOPLE WHO LACK SPATIAL AWARENESS
“When people have no spatial awareness. How do you not realize you’re standing in a doorway and blocking everyone? It drives me crazy. It was worse during lockdown when there could only be a certain number of people in a shop at once, and queues were outside.
People leaving the shop would stand right outside the door engrossed in conversation with each other, but to everyone else, it looked like they were in the queue to get inside. As a result, others would queue up behind them, even though they weren’t actually in line. When they finally did realize that they were confusing everyone, they’d act like it was everyone else’s fault.”
LOW BEAM HEADLIGHTS
“Low beam headlights are so bright that nobody else can see anything. Bonus: the high beams aren’t any brighter but aimed at the sky.”
SELF-PROCLAIMED EMPATHS AND PEOPLE WHO MISREAD
“Anyone claiming to be an empath and people reading “could of” for “could’ve.”
LONG GROCERY STORE LINES
“Long grocery store lines and that one person who argues over the price of every item.”
HOLDING PHONE ON THEIR MOUTH
“People holding their phones to their mouth while on speaker phone. Not only do I not want to hear your conversation while I’m trying to decide on white cheddar versus hot and spicy Cheez-Its, but you’re driving. I don’t want to die because you don’t understand how cell phone microphones work.”
OVERWEIGHT BODY POSITIVE PEOPLE
“Overweight people who are ‘body positive’ and celebrated.”
HATING NEW TECHNOLOGIES
“People that “hate” new technology. For example, self-checkouts. Why do you hate that you can leave the store faster when you do it yourself instead of standing there while the cashier slowly checks out your stuff.”
NOT USING HEADPHONES
“No headphones for people who talk on speaker phones or watch social media with volume in public. I want to throw them in the river.”
“People littering. Once, I was driving a company truck and saw an old person walking towards the nearest supermarket, going through her bags. She had one too many and decided to toss it into the river below. I fought hard the urge to run her over. Hope she’s not doing well.”
AUTOMATED PHONE CALLS
“I hate automated phone calls. I want a real person. But no. I get to scream to my phone till my neighbors call the police.”
PEOPLE STANDING IN DOORWAYS
“People who stand in doorways. I manage teams at many sports venues and the number of people who stand in the doorway (or in the stairwell) to chat or look. “Are you in or out?”
SPEEDING UP IN TRAFFIC
“When people in traffic speed up after you turn on your blinker, just to make sure you won’t get in front of them so that they can be one car ahead. When their speed would not have changed otherwise.”
“Releasing balloons in some stupid celebration. Balloons are deadly for animals. It is littering.”
