BACKSTORY
OP’s son and his best friend, Aaron, spent the entire day at OP’s place.
WHAT HAPPENED NEXT?
OP asked her son if he would like to buzz his hair before his dad picked him up. OP offered to cut his hair while he and Aaron could continue playing video games.
WHAT DID OP DO?
After getting done with her son’s hair, OP asked Aaron if he would like to even out his bob.
HOW WAS AARON’S HAIR?
According to OP, Aaron’s hair was like Kurt Cobain’s.
WHAT DID AARON RESPOND?
Aaron initially said no to OP’s offer. He said no because he was going to get it short like OP’s son.
WHAT DID OP OFFER?
OP offered to do it just like Aaron wanted. She also let him choose some color to apply to his hair.
WHAT HAPPENED NEXT?
Aaron agreed to the offer; OP did Aaron’s hair and eventually dropped him off a couple of hours later.
AARON’S PARENTS CALLED OP
After a while, OP received a call from Aaron’s parents. They were unhappy about the whole incident and asked OP why she would do something like this.
They also said that OP had no business cutting Aaron’s hair, that too without his parent’s permission.
WHAT DID OP SAY?
OP got defensive and said it’s hard to talk to people who think that 12-year-old boys should get permission from their parents to style their hair.
