OP’s nephews both graduated from high school that morning, and OP wanted to sit up front, so he camped out a bit in front of the entrance.

He brought his folding camping chair and headphones to listen to his show.

OP says that a pregnant woman got next to him about 40 minutes before the school would let them inside since somebody let her in line. He assumed it to be her partner.

She asked OP within 5 minutes (politely, admittedly) if she could have his chair as she would have trouble standing the whole time.

OP refused and apologized. He said he needed it more because of his bad feet and knees. And he went back to his things.

The pregnant lady asked him again within 2 minutes, and OP’s answer was the same.

She got mad at OP, said she would struggle the whole time, and asked her partner to tell him.

Her partner asked him politely, and OP again refused and said he needed it more and suggested she could wait in their car or just sit on the ground.

At this point, the pregnant lady’s husband directly called OP a jerk but left him alone.

“You refused to give up the chair you brought because you needed it due to your health conditions. I feel for the woman, but she and her partner should have brought their chairs and not assumed they were entitled to yours.”

“Health condition or not, it’s his chair that he brought with him. The entitlement some people have is just amazing to me.”

“If you are pregnant and going to wait for over half an hour, come prepared, and don’t expect strangers with possible problems of their own to give up their seats.”

“And sitting on the floor is an option. I’d have done that, especially if my husband was there to help me get up again.”
