“The credit system (fra), and the way credit is built. It should be illegal to require open revolving accounts that are aged in order to maintain a high score (you should be able to pay them off and close them and still keep a good score, but they want you to keep them open and “revolving”).
Inquiries shouldn’t lower your score. And late payments should be able to be removed by the credit bureau if you have extenuating circumstances. Not by the creditor themselves; the creditor shouldn’t have so much power over your report that you have to negotiate with them in order to get things removed.”
