Although adults are mature, they still retain their youthful spirits. Some people engage in activities that evoke childhood memories, which can bring them joy.
A user asked the forum, “What is the most childish thing you do as an adult?”. Let’s read the top comments.
SLIDING ON THE FLOOR IN SOCKS
“Hardwood floor, sliding in socks. Why would anyone think they’re too mature for this?”
PLAY PRETEND
“I’m an almost 31-year-old girl, and I still “play pretend” pretty often. When I’m running, and I start to feel tired or want to stop, I pretend I’m Wolverine, and I end up running faster and with more energy.
Whenever I eat soup, I make up elaborate stories about being a mysterious hooded stranger in an inn, eating alone in the corner (think Aragorn at the Prancing Pony). Inevitably, someone will come over and start trouble, which results in bows or swords being drawn, and fights commence. It takes me a long time to eat.”
GETTING MAD AT STRANGERS
“Get mad at strangers for being wrong on the internet.”
RUNNING UP THE STAIRS
“Every once in a while, I can’t help but run up the stairs like a gorilla.”
SLEEPING WITH A TEDDY BEAR
“Sleeping with my teddy bear. I’ll never get rid of that habit.”
BEHAVING LIKE GROWN-UP CHILDREN
“I have no children. My husband and I are childlike in general. Eat what we want (within reason), stay up as long as we want, color or paint on the walls if we want, play lots of video games and board games, and spend money on toys. Just grown-up children.”
HAVING ICE CREAM
“Ice cream for dinner on bad days.”
NOT STEPPING ON THE CRACKS
“Not stepping on the cracks in the sidewalk.”
PICKY EATER
“Being a picky eater. I do want to eat some things that just want to make me throw up.”
PLAYING LASER TAG
“I love playing laser tag.”
WATCHING ANIMATED KIDS MOVIES
“Don’t know if it’s childish, but I guess watching my comfort shows and movies like Disney movies and animated kids movies like Ice Age and such over watching “Adult” movies like horror or romance or nonanimated films/TV series.”
DOING ALL THE CHILDISH THINGS
“-Using kids toothpaste, cuz bubblegum sparkles flavor >>> plain mint
-Going insane over bubble wrap, lol
-eating cookies for breakfast
-seeing kids shows with my husband, like Jurassic Park
-giggling at innuendo or at people’s names (I worked as an EA once and answered a call from an executive whose surname was Glasscock. Had to put him on hold since I couldn’t contain my laughter).”
HUGGING A PILLOW TO SLEEP
“I must have a pillow to hug if I want to sleep.”
FEEL SHY IN SPEAKING WITH ADULTS
“I’m asking my mom to speak with “adults” (delivery, operators, etc.) because I’m shy and nervous. I’m 23 :)”
LOVE TO JUMP ON STRANGERS ON IKEA
“I like to go to IKEA, hide in the wardrobes, and jump out on strangers.”
